Former Illinois Governor Jim Edgar has been remembered as a model of leadership in the state. His influence continues through the Edgar Fellows program, which is known for encouraging good governance, bipartisan work, and open conversation among public officials.

Fritts began serving in the Illinois State House in 2023 after being elected to represent the 74th District. He succeeded Dan Swanson as state representative.
