Freeport Athletics reported results from recent girls’ volleyball and tennis matches, highlighting both defeats and a victory for Freeport High School teams.
On September 16, 2025, Freeport Athletics posted that the junior varsity girls’ volleyball team lost to Burlington Central: "Volleyball Girls Junior Varsity loses to Burlington Central with a final score of 3-25, 10-25." Later the same day, they shared another result: "Volleyball Girls Varsity loses to Burlington Central with a final score of 14-25, 13-25."
The following evening on September 16, Freeport Athletics reported a win in tennis: "Tennis Girls Varsity defeats Belvidere with a final score of 4 - 1."
Freeport High School serves students in grades nine through twelve in Freeport and Stephenson County. The school had an enrollment of 1,084 during the 2019–2020 academic year according to the Illinois Report Card (https://www.illinoisreportcard.com/). Of those students, grade ten had the highest concentration at 24.2 percent. The student body was composed of approximately half white students (50.5 percent), followed by black (24.2 percent), Hispanic (11.4 percent), and Asian (1.1 percent) populations as reported for that school year (Illinois Report Card).
