State Representative Bradley J. Fritts provided an update on his recent activities and outreach efforts as the end of summer approaches in Illinois’ 74th House District. Fritts, a Republican who was elected to the Illinois State House in 2023, replaced previous state representative Dan Swanson.

Fritts recently completed his annual Summer Tour, which included 52 stops such as town hall meetings, coffee gatherings, school visits, and tours of local businesses. “Being a true voice for my constituents is my top priority as a State Representative. My annual Summer Tour ensures that’s possible by allowing me to speak directly with hundreds of constituents about their top issues and concerns as residents of our community. I look forward to bringing this feedback with me when we return to Springfield for veto session in October and for our 2026 spring legislative session,” Fritts said.

He expressed gratitude to citizens who participated and the venues that hosted events during the tour.

In other community outreach activities, Fritts presented the 2024–2025 Educator of the Year Award to Shandy Moore Adams at the Regional Center for Change in Rock Falls. He stated: “The Center serves students who face challenges in a traditional school setting, and Shandy’s dedication has made a real difference in helping these young people succeed. Congratulations Shandy, and thank you for your commitment to our students and community!”

Fritts also toured the new Sinnissippi Centers facility in Byron with Illinois House Minority Leader Tony McCombie. The center provides behavioral healthcare services locally. According to Fritts: “This new facility will help address our critical shortage of behavioral healthcare services and ensure more residents get the help they need!”

Additionally, he visited The Meadows of Franklin Grove Assisted Living to give a legislative update focused on issues affecting seniors.

Fritts highlighted his visit to Rod Farm Market, operated by the Rod family who homeschool their children while running a petting zoo and store featuring goods from dozens of local vendors. He described it as “an important reminder of the value homeschool families bring to our community!”

He presented Sterling High School Principal Jason Austin with $500 in scholarship money for their new Trap Shooting Team from the Illinois Legislative Sportsman Caucus.

Fritts’ office also attended Rochelle Township High School’s library renovation ribbon-cutting event, noting expanded resources like maker spaces and podcast rooms now available for students.

A recent job fair organized by his office at Sauk Valley Community College connected employers with prospective employees across various fields.

Fritts reminded constituents about access to free museum passes through his office for Chicagoland museums and promoted use of his Community Calendar online for upcoming events—with certain restrictions based on state ethics laws.

He concluded by encouraging residents to reach out with comments or concerns regarding district matters.
