Most frugal townships in Northwest Illinois

Loran-Jefferson Multi Tax Assessment District, Dakota-Rock Grove Multi Tax Assessment District and Albany-Garden Plain #4 Multi Tax Assessment District top the list in Northwest Illinois with the lowest spending per capita in 2017, Illinois State Comptroller financial reports show.

State law requires local governments to self-report financial records each year, including revenue, spending and debt. Spending per capita is calculated to compare budget habits across townships.
