Report: Rochelle spent $9,148 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Rochelle Community Consolidated School District 231 is up 16 percent from five years ago, according to a NW Illinois News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Ogle County school district spent $7,919 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $9,148 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 1753 to 1617.

Rochelle's spending in 2016-17 was 29 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
