Rochelle Fire Department responded to 10 calls in 2017 - 81.8 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Rochelle included four fires - two structure fires, one vehicle fire and one other fire.

In all, the department saw $3,000 in fire loss - or about $750 per fire.

The department also received six false calls.

The Rochelle Firefighters Pension Fund, which has 13 active employees and 11 retired or inactive employees, was $103,603 in debt as of December 2016, according to the fund's mandated filings with the Illinois Department of Insurance. That amounts to $6,094 for every fire in 2016.
