Report: Freeport spent $11,895 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Freeport School District 145 is up 6.3 percent from five years ago, according to a NW Illinois News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Stephenson County school district spent $11,190 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $11,895 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 4189 to 3957.

Freeport's spending in 2017-18 was 10.8 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
