Report: Dakota spent $11,456 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Dakota Community Unit School District 201 is up 7.4 percent from five years ago, according to a NW Illinois News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Stephenson County school district spent $10,667 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $11,456 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 848 to 814.

Dakota's spending in 2017-18 was 14.1 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
