2018 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Whiteside County?

There were 74 offenders released on parole during 2018 that live in Whiteside County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by NW Illinois News.

The data shows that 64 men and 10 women were released in Whiteside County. Of the parolees, two were veterans, and the median age was 35. The youngest parolee was a 20-year-old man convicted of a crime against justice in 2018, and the oldest was a 64-year-old man convicted of a property crime in 2018.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Joshua D. Gibbons. He was convicted of a crime involving one or more weapons in 2014 when he was 21 years old. He is now 26.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in 2018 in each Whiteside County municipality.
