Ogle County Security Committee met April 14.
Here is the minutes provided by the committee:
1. Call Meeting to Order: Chairwoman Nordman called the meeting to order at 11:00 a.m. Present via audio: Janes, Oltmanns, Smith, Sulser and Youman. Others via audio: Finfrock, Sheriff Brian VanVickle, Coroner Lou Finch and IT Manager Larry Callant. Absent: McLester.
2. Approval of Minutes – March 10, 2020: Motion by Sulser to approve the minutes as presented, 2nd by Youman. Motion carried.
3. Public Comment: Finfrock stated the County Board meeting will take place as scheduled but will be strictly a virtual meeting.
4. Monthly Bills
Review of Department Billing: Motion by Janes that the credit card/department billing has been reviewed, 2nd by Smith. Motion carried. Yellow highlights will be submitted for reimbursement of COVID-19 expenses.
Sheriff: $23,970.63 Corrections: $2,942.22 Emergency Communications: $2,477.47 OEMA: $222.06
Sheriff: Motion by Janes to approve the bills totaling $12,078.52, 2nd by Oltmanns. Motion carried.
Emergency Communications: Motion by Sulser to approve the bills totaling $13,560.00, 2nd by Youman. Motion carried.
Corrections: Motion by Janes to approve the bills totaling $19,898.32, 2nd by Oltmanns. Motion carried.
OEMA: Motion by Smith to approve the bills totaling $84.29, 2nd by Janes. Motion carried.
Coroner: Motion by Sulser to approve the bills totaling $4,634.30, 2nd by Youman. Motion carried.
5. Coroner Report: Coroner Finch stated they have had 50 deaths since last month. He will be submitting $3,139.81 for reimbursement due to COVID-19. Grant Fund balance is $1,843.39 and Cremation Fund balance is $3,199.95
6. Sheriff Report: VanVickle stated they implemented safety precautions early on. They are starting to look toward the future if something like this would happen again. VanVickle stated he met with Chairman Finfrock, Vice Chairwoman Nordman and Finance Chairman Sparrow and they came up with approximately $387,000 in reductions across his budgets.

9. Adjournment: With no further business, Chairwoman Nordman adjourned the meeting. Time: 11:23 a.m.
