Meeting909

Byron Public Library District Board Executive Committee met April 22.

Here is the minutes provided by the committee:

The meeting was called to order at 4:00 pm by President Barb Clubb. Present were board members Barb Clubb, Elaine Breck, and Jill Grennan. Also present was Library Director Emily Porter.

Mrs. Porter presented her list of accomplishments and goals, which also included a list of COVID-19 related accomplishments and goals. She discussed her interest in beginning a strategic planning process later this summer. Before going in to closed session, Mrs. Porter asked that the board be considerate of the extremely high levels of unemployment at this time. The board agreed that it was especially important now to demonstrate caution and fiscal responsibility.

Mrs. O’Neil moved that the committee enter closed session for the purpose of evaluation of the library director [2(c)(1)]. The motion was seconded. All voted yes. Committee went into closed session at 4:43pm.

At 4:54pm the committee returned to open session. Mrs. Clubb explained that though the committee is extremely happy with the director’s work, the committee decided to postpone any salary increase for six months, at which time the director will have another evaluation with the possibility of a raise at that time.

Mrs. Grennan made a motion to adjourn the meeting. The motion passed 4-0 and the meeting was adjourned at 5:06pm.
