Q1 2020 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Carroll County?

There were four offenders released on parole during the first quarter of 2020 that live in Carroll County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by NW Illinois News.

The data shows that all of the released offenders in Carroll County were men. The median age of the parolees was 43. The youngest parolee was a 38-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving drugs in 2019, and the oldest was a 48-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving one or more weapons in 2019.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was David A. McGinty. He was convicted of a crime involving alcohol in 2017 when he was 44 years old. He is now 47.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the first quarter of 2020 in each Carroll County municipality with at least one parolee in the quarter.
