Ogle County IT Committee Met October 13

Ogle County IT Committee met Oct. 13.

Here is the minutes provided by the committee:

1. Call Meeting to Order: Chairwoman Whalen called the meeting to order at 10:00 a.m. Present: Sparrow and Youman. Present via audio: Nordman and Heuer. Others via audio: IT Manager Larry Callant.

2. Approval of Minutes – September 8, 2020: Motion by Sparrow to approve the minutes as presented, 2nd by Youman. Roll call: Yes – Heuer, Youman, Sparrow, Whalen and Nordman. Motion carried.

3. Approval of Bills: Motion by Sparrow to approve the bills totaling $11,568.14, 2nd by Youman. Callant went through the bills and made note of which ones will be submitted for COVID reimbursement. Roll call: Yes – Nordman, Heuer, Youman, Sparrow and Whalen. Motion carried.

4. Public Comment: None

5. Department Report: Callant stated the fiber project is completed to Highway and Health Depts. and the connection should be done next week.

6. New Business – IT Hardware/Software Line: Whalen would like to recommend all General Fund monies for hardware/software requests be moved under IT Dept. Whalen is hoping to get better cost saving purchases along with making sure new purchases work with current technology. Discussion continued regarding cost savings. Motion by Youman to recommend to Finance Committee that General Fund lines 4710, 4714 and 4715 Computer Hardware/Software be moved under the IT Department, 2nd by Nordman. Roll call: Yes – Nordman, Heuer, Youman, Sparrow and Whalen. Motion carried.

7. Old Business: None

8. Closed Session: None

9. Adjournment: Motion by Sparrow to adjourn, 2nd by Heuer. Motion carried. Time: 10:22 a.m.
