Report: Steward School District spent $15,463 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Steward Elementary School District 220 was up 18 percent from five years ago, according to the NW Illinois News analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Lee County school district spent $13,107 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $15,463 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment rose from 57 to 63 students over the same period.

Steward's spending in 2019-20 was 6.7 percent higher than the state average of $14,492.
