Report: River Bend School District spent $9,719 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at River Bend Community Unit School District 2 was up 12.6 percent from five years ago, according to the NW Illinois News analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Whiteside County school district spent $8,635 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $9,719 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 982 to 926 students over the same period.

River Bend's spending in 2019-20 was 32.9 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
