The path to Dr. Lori Cortez’s success hasn’t been without challenges, she was the first in her family to go to college and was considered a low income student. Join Dr. Cortez, Dean of Institutional Advancement, to learn about her different roles at SVCC and in the community, and get inspired to use your time and talent to impact your future, your community, and the world!

In 2014, Lori was welcomed to SVCC as the Director of TRIO Student Support Services. She now serves as the leader for the Foundation, Marketing, Impact, Community Education, and the Small Business Development Center teams. Lori has led SVCC teams in securing two TRIO SSS grants ($2.9 million), Title III grant ($1.9 million), and the Foundation’s first $1 million donation.
