Republican candidate Li Arellano Jr is set to host a Meet & Greet event on Thursday, Feb. 8, at Kennay Farms Distilling in Rochelle, Illinois. The event aims to foster a connection between Arellano and the residents of the broader 37th State Senate District.
The event, organized by Michael Sutcliffe and Arellano himself, invites district residents to an open forum for engaging in meaningful conversations with the candidate. Scheduled from 5:30 to 7 p.m., the Meet & Greet offers attendees an opportunity to learn more about Arellano's vision for the district, voice their concerns, and ask questions directly.
“Don’t miss out on this engaging evening filled with lively discussions and community spirit. Let’s come together to support a brighter future for our district!” the event’s landing page on Facebook reads.
The event promises light refreshments and open discussions about community issues. Whether attendees are longtime supporters or newcomers eager to explore Arellano’s policies and plans, the Meet & Greet aims to provide an inclusive platform for all. Queries can be submitted ahead of time via email at LiandroArellano@gmail.com.
Arellano has previously served as mayor of Dixon in 2015. During his two-term tenure as mayor, he focused on restoring fiscal integrity, enhancing local infrastructure, and fostering economic development. According to his website, after fulfilling his objectives as mayor, Arellano adhered to his pledged term limits and did not seek reelection for a third term. Instead, he returned to the private sector where he now owns two Jimmy John’s franchises, a frozen yogurt shop—the Frosted Spoon—and a commercial property leasing company. In addition to his business ventures, Arellano serves as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army Reserves and is currently a squad leader with the 317th Engineer Construction Company in Homewood, IL.
The 37th State Senate District encompasses Lee, Bureau, Henry, DeKalb, Ogle, Rock Island, Whiteside, Stark, Peoria, Woodford and Marshall counties according to the Illinois General Assembly website. The district is currently represented by State Sen. Win Stoller (R-Germantown Hills), who announced in August that he would not seek a third term.
