Mike Madigan, the former Illinois House Speaker, is set to face a federal corruption trial. Known for his influence in Illinois politics, Madigan's trial will commence at the Dirksen Federal Courthouse. His tenure spanned 36 years before resigning in 2021. Prosecutors aim to prove that Madigan engaged in a racketeering conspiracy. U.S. District Judge John Blakey will oversee the proceedings, with Michael McClain, a close associate of Madigan, also facing charges related to bribery schemes.
