A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request was sent to the Oregon City Council regarding detailed information about its council members on October 15, 2024. The request was made by NW Illinois News, a media organization dedicated to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs.
In the FOIA request, we asked for a list of all council members with specific details including their names, titles, years appointed, term lengths (2 or 4 years), and term expiry dates. The requested information is sought under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act, 5 ILCS 140. We expressed our preference for receiving this data in an electronic format.
