FOIA Request to City of Polo Regarding Unpaid Parking Violations on October 28, 2024.

We at NW Illinois News have formally requested information from the City of Polo under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act, 5 ILCS 140. The request was sent on October 28, 2024, and seeks to obtain a list of all currently unpaid parking violations within the city's jurisdiction.

The details we have asked for include the name of the offender, their address, the amount due for each violation, the date of violation, and total amount due. We believe this information is crucial in providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs.

As a media organization committed to holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public, access to such public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. Given our role in disseminating information to the public, we have also requested a fee waiver as media professionals.

We await a response from the City of Polo and will continue our efforts in ensuring transparency and accountability in local government affairs.
