State Representative Bradley J. Fritts has expressed strong disapproval of President Joe Biden's decision to commute the sentence of Rita Crundwell, a former Comptroller of Dixon who was convicted for embezzling over $50 million from the city. "To say I am outraged by this commutation is an understatement," Fritts stated, emphasizing the betrayal felt by Dixon's citizens due to Crundwell's actions.

Fritts criticized the President for lifting Crundwell’s house arrest, following her early release from prison without prior notice to Dixon officials. He also raised concerns about whether Crundwell is still obligated to repay the stolen funds, calling it "unacceptable."

The Illinois General Assembly will reconvene on January 4th for a Lame Duck Session. Fritts expressed concern over potential legislative actions during this period, citing past sessions where significant policies were enacted without voter accountability. He assured constituents that updates would be provided through his website and newsletters.

In community news, Fritts' office participated in local events such as ribbon cuttings and facility tours. These included attending the opening of Rochelle BookHub and Selmi’s Formal Wear in Sterling, as well as touring James Hardie's Peru facility with State Senator Sue Rezin.

Additionally, Fritts announced a new 'Community Calendar' on his official state website to help residents stay informed about local events. The calendar aims to streamline event information while adhering to state ethics laws regarding postings.

Fritts encouraged constituents to visit his website and Facebook page for ongoing updates on legislative activities and district services.
