A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request was sent to the Orangeville Community Unit School District 203 regarding copies of all emails and memos from the past year that contain specific keywords. The request was made by NW Illinois News on January 28, 2025.
The FOIA request specifically asked for documents containing the terms "Lucy Calkins" and "Units of Study". As a media organization, we at NW Illinois News are committed to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs. Access to public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities, which include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public.
We believe that as a media organization involved in gathering and reporting news to the public, we are eligible for a fee waiver. This access to information will allow us to continue our mission of ensuring accountability within our local government institutions.
