House Minority Leader Tony McCombie organized the fourth annual House Republican Women to Watch Conference in Springfield. The event, held on a Tuesday, gathered women leaders from various parts of Illinois to acknowledge and celebrate their contributions to local communities.

Leader McCombie sought nominations from her 89th District this spring, resulting in 16 notable leaders being highlighted. Among these, Daisha Boehm, Katie Herrig, and Allison Huntley were selected to attend the Springfield event.

“It is important to continue to recognize and honor women who have worked hard to make communities throughout our state a better place to live and work,” McCombie stated. “Beyond that, I am continually impressed with the number of nominations I received. This is just the beginning, and I look forward to continuing to celebrate all the leaders in northwest Illinois.”

McCombie intends to invite all nominees to a special event during the summer to further acknowledge their achievements. The House Republican Caucus aims to continue hosting the Women to Watch event annually, following its inception in 2019.
