Today in Springfield, House Minority Leader Tony McCombie attended the Illinois Police Officers Memorial. This annual event honors officers killed in the line of duty. McCombie is a regular attendee, showing her support for law enforcement and their families. "It was a beautiful event that brought law enforcement from across the state together under one roof," McCombie stated. "We owe everything to those who work day in and day out to serve and protect." Multiple speeches from constitutional officers were part of the ceremony, with several addressing the need to allow police officers to do their job. The controversial SAFE-T Act was noted as a hindrance in this regard.
