Illinois honors fallen firefighters at annual memorial ceremony

The 32nd annual Illinois Fallen Firefighter Memorial & Firefighting Medal of Honor Awards Ceremony was held in Springfield. House Minority Leader Tony McCombie attended the event, expressing gratitude to firefighters for their dedication and honoring those who have died in service.

“I am forever grateful to firefighters – and firefighting families – for their selflessness and dedication to public safety,” McCombie stated. She also paid tribute to Aurora Fire Department's firefighter Christian Medrano, acknowledging his contributions and offering condolences to his family.
