State Senator Li Arellano, Jr has voiced strong opposition following the passage of a new budget by Illinois Democrats. The budget, which amounts to over $55 billion, is being described as the largest in the state's history.

Senator Arellano expressed his discontent with the process and implications of this financial plan. "Illinois Democrats have just rammed through the largest and most reckless budget in our state’s history, over $55 billion in spending, passed with zero transparency, minimal debate, and no regard for the taxpayers who are footing the bill," he stated.

He further criticized the timing and manner of its approval. "This isn’t leadership. It’s political corruption, plain and simple, snuck in during a midnight vote."

According to Arellano, this budget imposes significant tax burdens on working families while offering little in return. He remarked: "To make matters worse, they’re hitting working families with nearly a billion dollars in new taxes. Democrats keep demanding more from you while delivering less. Less public safety. Fewer job opportunities. Less economic growth."

The senator did not hold back his criticism of what he perceives as fiscal irresponsibility by stating: "This budget is not just bloated; it’s dishonest and irresponsible. It’s a slap in the face to the very people who keep this state afloat." His decision to vote against it was driven by his refusal to support what he describes as continued mismanagement under one-party rule.
