Report: Scales Mound spent $17,422 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Scales Mound Community Unit School District 211 is up 23 percent from five years ago, according to a NW Illinois News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Jodaviess County school district spent $14,215 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $17,422 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 257 to 246.

Scales Mound's spending in 2016-17 was 34 percent higher than the state average of $12,973.
