Report: Steward spent $16,498 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Steward Elementary School District 220 is up 11.9 percent from five years ago, according to a NW Illinois News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Lee County school district spent $14,740 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $16,498 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 63 to 64.

Steward's spending in 2017-18 was 23.7 percent higher than the state average of $13,337.
